God predestined that on December 7, 1944 Bishop Reginald S. Boyce, Sr., D.D., would be born to the proud parents Gloria and the late Noel Boyce, Sr. The Godly covenant and heavenly order of man having dominion upon the earth Bishop has fulfilled the following:
Bishop Reginald S. Boyce, Sr. was educated in the New York City School system. He matriculated at the Community Bible Institute, under the tutelage of the late Bishop James F. Copeland where he received his Bachelors of Theology. In 1999, Bishop further received his Doctorate of Divinity from The Community Bible Institute and Christian Light House College. Overcome by the mesmerizing power of love, Bishop married on April 5, 1969 the “Lady Esther” Boyce. Three precious children rise and called them blessed, Pastor Reginald S. Boyce, Jr., Elder Jeaunine Boyce and the beloved Brian who went to eternal rest in December of 1990. He is also the beloved grandfather of Kevin Taman, Christion Sinclair, and Christopher James.
Bishop was a committed servant in the ministry at the House of David Pentecostal Apostolic Faith Church under the auspices of his spiritual father the late Bishop Willie Graham, Sr. His initial sermon was preached on December 27, 1971 and was entitled “Who Do Men Say That I am?” He served faithfully for fifteen years as Senior Minister at the House of David to which he learned and was trained in the ministry that he would later need in his higher appointment.
In 1986, God endowed Bishop Boyce with a vision. Heeding the clarion call True Praise Church of God, Inc. was born. Multifaceted in scope, the vision encompasses building a new church edifice, a Learning Center for Spiritual and Human Development, thoroughly equipped to accept referral from social agencies, brethren ministries and walk-ins. The goal is to cater to people of all cultures, economic status and religious background with its central theme of rehabilitating those with diverse maladies. Bishop Boyce’s conviction is Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and he that winneth souls is wise.” Being an ardent laborer of the gospel, a husband (of Forty years) father, grandfather, Pastor and Bishop, he firmly believes in the total man. He has a legacy of a “Champion” that exudes through his service to God and his country as he served in the United Sates Army from 1965 to 1967. The service also afforded him the opportunity to live in Europe. He retired with twenty seven years of dedicated service from the United States Postal Service, where he received numerous commendations, and service awards for his professionalism and proficient job performance.
An humanitarian in his own right, he’s the former Protestant Chaplain of the Mary Immaculate Hospital, Chaplain and Protestant Overseer of the New York State Veterans Home in St. Albans, NY, and Presiding Prelate and Overseer of the United Fellowship Churches – a growing fellowship of churches.
Lastly, the history and legacy of the Great Man of God Bishop Reginald Boyce, Sr., D.D.
